Some Newbie Jet Ski Buying Tips

Here are some tips before you buy your first jet ski and avoid buyer’s remorse. A jet ski is a costly investment and if you make buying mistakes, its an awful waste of money. To avoid this money pit, read some of our tips:

1. If you are a complete newbie, you should avoid buying a brand new jet ski. There is a learning curve in handling this watercraft and its not a good idea to make mistakes with a brand new—and an expensive one at that—machine that just came out of the lot.

2. Don’t forget to consider the number of person that’s going to ride the vessel. If you intend to ride with the rest of the family, you better opt for the three-person model or if its just you, there is the single-person model.

3. Don’t underestimate the weight of this machine. A single person jet ski can easily weigh up to 400 pounds. That is not exactly light but a couple of strong grown ups can lift that. A three person model on the other hand can easily weight up to 1,000 pounds. With that kind of weight, you better have a jet ski lift installed.

4. Avoid buying a protection plan when the warranty coverage is excellent. If you must buy a brand new jet ski, make sure to read the warranty certificate because it pretty much covers a majority of the situations that you will encounter with your brand new toy.
